School Nurse Certification Program 

Slippery Rock University’s School Nurse Certification program is online and consists of 21 graduate credits. This includes a 100 hour practicum with a Certified School Nurse in the last Nursing Course, N623. The program prepares RNs with a BSN to apply to the Pennsylvania Department of Education for Level I Certification. Some states may accept the PA certificate as a basis to grant their own state certificate.

The program can be completed in 4 semesters by taking 6 credits per semester, including summer. Or it can be completed at a slower rate by taking 3 credits per semester.
