Simeon Ananou was appointed Associate Provost for IATS at Slippery Rock University effective April, 29, 2008, to lead the university's administrative and academic computing initiatives. He also has responsibility over the campus network, telecommunications, IT security and policy as well as helpdesk and support services. Prior to his Associate Provost position, Ananou served as Chief Information Officer at Piedmont Virginia Community College.
His background encompasses more than 15 years experience working in the field of Information Technology in higher education. His career started at The Ohio State University where he served in various capacities before joining Ashland University where he served as Director of IT Operations.
Ananou holds a B.A. from The Ohio State University and an MBA from Baker College in Flint, Michigan.
