IATS Support Services employs students for the following positions. When available, positions will be posted on Career Connection.

IT Student Employment Application
Computer Lab Assistants:
Applicant must be responsible, have excellent communications skills, have completed Computer Concepts, Productivity Software or have comparable computer knowledge, and be available to work various shift hours. Applicants will be responsible for the security of the computer lab, basic equipment maintenance and providing general assistance to lab patrons.
IATS Support Services Student Workers:
Students will be expected to understand and be knowledgeable with regard to the SRU password portal and help students, staff/faculty members change their Active Directory passwords.
Students must have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs to offer troubleshooting advice to users with problems (both over the phone and in person).
Student must be familiar with Rockmail, Blackboard, H: & I: Drive Access, and MySRU.
Students must be familiar with the layout of campus as they may be required to go to various buildings for equipment pickup or delivery and to offer assistance to our customers.
Students must be trained in our work order database system and maintain data consistency while entering work orders in the database.
Students will be expected to identify problems that cannot be addressed by Support Services and direct our customers to the appropriate department for assistance.
Students must be able to use the phone and know how to transfer phone cells.
Students will be expected to display professionalism and customer service skills.
Students will be expected to collaborate with the other student workers to construct a schedule that allows for constant 8 hour phone coverage by the students.
IATS Support Services Student Tech:
Position will perform the following duties:
*Basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of PC and Mac hardware and software, printers, and networked equipment
*Setup and tear down computer hardware in faculty and staff offices as well as labs and classrooms
*Deliver and maintain supplies for academic computer labs and provide training to new lab attendant staff
*Enter and update service requests into Support Services work order database as needed
*Inventory and preventative maintenance of smart classroom equipment
*Perform computer surplus procedures including hard disk erasure
*Prepare hard drives for installation into repurposed computers
*Answer Support Services help line and assist caller with basic troubleshooting steps
