Connecting to a Wireless Network at SRU

A SRU username and password is required to connect to the SRU wireless network.

All individuals must connect to srustudents when using a personal computer to access the wireless (sruwireless and sru8021x are for university owned computers only).

Step by step instructions:

  1. Connect to the srustudents wireless network (Do not use sruwireless or sru1x)
  2. Open your web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome)
  3. Your browser should open up to a login page
  4. Enter your SRU username and password
  5. You may get a website security certificate error after you enter your username and password.  Choose the Continue to this website option to connect to srustudents

Wireless Troubleshooting:

Local Only 

  • Make sure you are connected to srustudents
  • Open up your web browser and login

·         Web Authentication Unsuccessful

  • Make sure you entered your SRU username and password correctly
  • Your password may be expired.  Go to the Password Portal to change your password

Login Screen Does Not Appear

  • Make sure you are connected to srustudents
  • Reset your Internet Explorer settings
    • Go to ToolsàInternet Options
    • Click on the Advanced Tab
    • Click on Restore Advanced Settings
    • Click on Reset
    • Click OK
    • Close Internet Explorer and then open it again, this time the login screen should appear
