Minor in Adapted Physical Activity

As a minor in the Adapted Physical Activity program, you will gain experience working with children and adults with disabilities in a variety of settings. As an APA minor, you will have a competitive advantage in the job market, when applying for graduate school, or choosing your career. Moreover, the minor in APA serves as excellent preparation for SRU's Master of Science in Adapted Physical Activity program.

APA curriculum emphasizes health and wellness for people with disabilities in the following environments:

Further, you will have the opportunity to travel with faculty to local, national, and international conferences to present and participate in undergraduate research projects.

In the APA minor, you will learn to modify and adapt skills and activities for individuals with disabilities to promote a lifetime of physical activity and wellness. You will also develop professionalism, advocacy, and leadership in a variety of settings, including aquatic environments, equestrian facilities, and fitness, sport, senior, and community recreation centers.
