Slippery Rock University

Criminology, Minor

The criminology minor is an 18-credit hour program, which provides students with an overview of criminology (the study of criminal behavior) and the criminal justice system. Specifically, it includes classes in criminological theory, policing, courts and adjudication, corrections, juvenile delinquency, and various elective courses (i.e., criminal investigations, police and society, the death penalty, crime and the media, victimology, and white-collar crime). This minor is an excellent accompaniment to majors in psychology, social work, parks and resource management, homeland security, corporate security, and chemistry.
