The Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), along with its education and training components, outlined in this manual are intended to enhance the protection of lives and property through effective use of University and community resources. Whenever an emergency affecting the campus reaches proportions that cannot be handled by routine measures, the President, or Designee, may declare a state of emergency and engage these procedures. Since an emergency may be sudden and without warning, these policies and procedures are designed to be flexible in order to accommodate contingencies of various types and magnitudes.
The policies and procedures described in this document apply to all personnel, students, and support staff of SRU. These policies and procedures also apply to all on and off campus buildings and grounds owned or operated by Slippery Rock University (SRU).
Any incident that has the potential for adverse publicity should be reported promptly to the President (2000) or the Emergency Administrative Director (2728), the University Public Relations Office (ext. 2091) and University Police (ext. 3333). Outside of regular business hours, the appropriate individual(s) should be contacted by alternative means.
This EOP is in effect immediately; it takes precedence over any EOP documents previously written and implemented by SRU. This document is to be incorporated with and complement existing documents.
