Greetings! This page is intended for incoming international students and their families. Please use this webpage for important information regarding your arrival at Slippery Rock University. The links contained on this page will provide you with answers to many of the questions you may have such as arranging your transportation to SRU, how to pay your tuition bill, and international student orientation. Arrival to Campus

Arrival Information Form to Slippery Rock University

Please complete this form so that we know when you will be arriving to Slippery Rock University. Note: This form is MANDATORY and must be completed.

Transportation to Campus

Slippery Rock University will offer free shuttle service from the Pittsburgh International Airport to campus. The shuttle will pick up students on August 14^th and 15^th between 8 AM and 10 PM only You must complete the ARRIVAL FORM to confirm pickup. If you are arriving on a different day and time you will be responsible for your own ground transportation to campus.

In these cases, here are some options for ground transportation from the Pittsburgh Airport Authority:

Uber - estimated $65 to $80 USD
Lyft - estimated $72 USD
Tina's Taxi - estimated $100 USD

There is not a bus, subway or train service that runs from the airport to Slippery Rock. Please make sure you arrange transportation pick-up in advance.

Health Insurance

All the information you need to know about getting health insurance during your stay at SRU and the United States! The university highly encourages all international students to purchase health insurance for the duration of their stay regardless of visa type. Although, ONLY J-1 students are required by law to purchase health insurance, all international student must provide proof of insurance prior to arrival or by Friday, September 1, 2023. For your convenience we have revised the tips below and included a list of providers for F-1 and J-1 visa holders. Some popular companies that previous and current international students have purchased policies with are CISI, ISO, International Student Insurance and GeoBlue. However, please feel free to purchase a policy with whichever company best meets your health and financial needs as well as your visa requirements.
