Principal Pops Conductor Marvin Hamlisch and the PSO whirl into the best season yet with Ballroom with a Twist, choreographed by Emmy-nominated Louis van Amstel from Dancing with the Stars.  This dazzling concert features top performers from So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing with the Stars and High School Musical.  The event will include breathtaking costumes, incredible music, astounding vocalists and of course, exciting dance performances.  A dessert reception for SRU guests will follow the concert.

Coach transportation leaves at 5:45 p.m. from SRU’s Russell Wright Alumni House and Conference center. Plan to board at 5:30 p.m.

“Billy Elliot” is a joyous celebration of one young boy’s triumph against the odds. Called “the most inspiring show I’ve seen in years” by Ben Brantley of The New York Times, the story follows Billy’s journey as he stumbles out of the boxing ring, into a ballet class and discovers his dream to dance. Full of life, laughter, award-winning choreography and an unforgettable score by Elton John, “Billy Elliot” will enchant the dreamer in all of us.

The show is brought to life by a phenomenal cast of 45 and the Tony-winning creative team — director Stephen Daldry, choreographer Peter Darling and writer Lee Hall — along with music legend Elton John, who has written what the New York Post calls “his best score yet!”
