Boost Family Game Night

Boost is a peer-to-peer wellness coaching experience focused around the emotional and social wellness dimensions. The peer coaches are trained undergraduate students at Slippery Rock University. The peer coaches receive over 30 hours of training and have continuous supervision by a certified health education specialist. Students interested in participating in Boost will be paired with a peer coach and meet with the peer coach once a week. Sessions will be unique to each Boost participants’ goals and development process. Topic areas that may be covered can include, coping strategies, goal setting, managing feelings, connecting to campus resources, prioritizing, how to get involved on campus and referrals to campus resources. Each coaching session is an opportunity for growth.

The Boost Peer Coaching program is offering anyone who wants to participate or get more information to join us for “Boost Family Game Night!” This event will be held Monday, March 5 from 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm in the Great Room of Watson Hall. The event will give you an opportunity to meet the coaches in an informal atmosphere. The meet and greet will include a program overview, expectations of coaches and participants, board games and food. If you are unable to attend the social you are still welcome to participate in Boost. Those who plan to attend the “Boost Family Game Night” need to register in advance by contacting, Renee Bateman, Coordinator of Health Promotion, at or 724.738.4206 . Those unable to attend the social can still participate in Boost. You can contact Renee Bateman with your interest at any time and she will help connect you to a coach.
