Haida Manga & Graphic Novels

Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas is an award-winning visual contemporary Haida artist, author and professional speaker. His artwork has been seen in public spaces, museums, galleries and private collections across the globe including the British Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Seattle Art Museum, and the Vancouver International Airport. Influenced by both Haida traditional iconography and contemporary Asian visual culture, Yahgulanaas has created art celebrated for its vitality, relevancy and originality. His publications include national bestsellers Flight of the Hummingbird and RED, a Haida Manga. He also travels the world to speak to businesses, colleges, and communities about social justice, community building, communication and change management. This residency is co-sponsored by the Native American Studies Series, the College of Liberal Arts, Kaleidoscope Arts Festival, English Department and Philosophy Department.
