The Harrisburg Internship Semester

T.H.I.S. might be for you! The semester-long paid internship, in a state government office is open to students from any major. Two students, one for the spring of 2019 and one for the fall of 2019, will be selected from SRU. Each semester each of the 14 PASSHE universities send one student to work in state government (9 credits) while taking a public policy course (3 credits) and writing a major research paper (3 credits). Students can be placed anywhere from the Department of Public Welfare to the Center for Rural Pennsylvania to the Governor’s Policy Office or the Department of Environmental Protection. Interns get a great, real work experience while living in Harrisburg, PA for the semester.

Interested applicants can pick up applications from the Department of Political Science in 203 Spotts (or from the Campus Coordinator for THIS, Dr. Sharon Sykora, in 203H Spotts). Interested applicants must contact Dr. Sykora prior to submitting a final application (sharon.sykora@sru.edu, (738-2431).
