Slippery Rock University's Feb. 13 Chinese New Year Celebration included a luncheon, children's activities and live music. The free, "Year of the Monkey," program was hosted at the Slippery Rock Township Building. Chinese musicians from Ohio and Pittsburgh performed traditional Chinese music for the program, which was aimed at offering fun and support for multiculturalism, an important component of SRU's mission to educate graduates for a pluralistic world. The Chinese New Year, also known as the "Lunar New Year" or "Spring Festival," is one of the most important holidays in China.
