Keller, a professor of dance, has been serving as assistant to the dean since 2010. She will assume the interim role in mid-August following the retirement of Eva Tsuquiashi-Daddesio.

"Jennifer has ably served as the assistant to the dean and brings important experience to the interim role," said Way.

Keller, who teaches all levels of modern technique, dance technology and contemporary partnering at the University, also serves as the director of the Rock Dance Company, which is dedicated to community and children's performances.

Her choreography and performance work have captured a Pittsburgh Foundation award; the Harry Schwalb Excellence in the Arts Award; the 2003 SRU President's Award for Creative Achievement; and the 2002 Zuzak Teaching Artist/Scholar Award from the College of Liberal Arts.

The focus of Keller's current research centers on the development of experimental dance film.

Keller received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Connecticut College and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Arizona State University.

Tsuquiashi-Daddesio, who will be retiring from the University in August, joined SRU in 1988 as a faculty member in the department of modern languages, serving as department chair from 2008-2009. She was appointed interim dean for the College of Humanities, Fine and Performing Arts in May 2009 and in July 2010, became dean.

A national search will be conducted to fill the permanent position.
