PCN program to feature SRU President
July 14, 2015
Slippery Rock, Pa. - Cheryl Norton, Slippery Rock University president, will be the featured guest July 19 on Infinite Possibilities, a half-hour, public affairs program featuring Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education universities. The show airs at 2 p.m., on the Pennsylvania Cable Network (Armstrong Butler Channel 47, Pittsburgh Comcast Channel 48).
"The title of the program says it all," said State System Chancellor Frank Brogan. "Our universities do indeed provide infinite opportunities to our students, and this program will highlight some of those opportunities while giving viewers a closer look at what makes each of the institutions special."
Infinite Possibilities focuses on a specific theme each week. The July 19 episode will target environmental studies. In addition to Norton, the show will also showcase SRU students Ashley Beal, a senior from West Mifflin, and Victoria Yeager, a sophomore from Patton, both of whom are involved in mercury research.
SRU is nationally recognized for its work in sustainability and environmental issues and has been named to the Princeton Review's Guide to 322 Green Colleges, the Sierra club's Top 100 Cool Schools and ranked 43rd in the world in the Green Metric World University 2014 survey. The University most recently was awarded the 2015 APPA Sustainability Award in Facilities Management
If you're unable to catch the episode Sunday at 2 p.m., it will be available for viewing July 17 at www.passhe.edu/infiniteopportunities.
