HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Board of Governors of Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education today extended the contracts of Chancellor Frank Brogan and 10 university presidents, including Slippery Rock University President Cheryl Norton.

The extensions run through June 30, 2019.

In addition to Norton, other presidents receiving one-year extensions to their contracts included: David Soltz, Bloomsburg University; Karen Whitney, Clarion University; Marcia Welsh, East Stroudsburg University; Michael Driscoll, Indiana University; Kenneth Hawkinson, Kutztown University; Michael Fiorentino Jr., Lock Haven University; Francis Hendricks, Mansfield University; John Anderson, Millersville University; and George Harpster, Shippensburg University.

Interim presidents are leading Cheyney and West Chester Universities until a permanent president is hired and are not eligible to be considered for an extension.

Two presidents, Geraldine Jones at California University and H. Fred Walker at Edinboro University, were appointed earlier this year and also were not considered for contract extensions. Both of their contracts already run through June 30, 2019.
