"We wanted to highlight the schools in each state that are driving innovative learning and meeting demands of students," said Dan Schuessler, CEO and founder of AC Online. "These schools are not only offering great programs, but they have expanded their program excellence to the much-desired online environment."

To determine the rankings, data analysts and college experts developed a proprietary scoring system to rank colleges based on various cost-to-quality criteria and metrics, or the AC Online Peer-Based Value. This proprietary metric compares qualitative components of colleges with similar costs, against the tuition of colleges with similar quality metrics. The general criteria and scoring metrics include:

• Must be not-for-profit institution

• Number of online bachelor's degrees available

• Student-faculty ratio

• Loan default rate

• Job placement and career counseling for graduates

• Online tuition rate

• 6-year graduation rate

"This rating reflects our commitment to providing outstanding academic programs through a variety of delivery systems," said Cheryl Norton, SRU president. "It's clear that for many learners, the flexibility and accessibility of online classes matches their educational needs. It is an honor to have our online programs cited for their academic excellence and value."
