Annual SRU “White Out” fan night set for Sept. 24

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - A blizzard in September? With a little bit of luck - and a lot of white T-shirts - Slippery Rock University's Mihalik-Thompson Stadium may look like it's been hit by one Sept. 24.

The date will mark the annual "White Out" football game, as SRU will play host to Gannon University at 6 p.m.

Official souvenir tees are available for $5 (S-XL) and $7 (2XL-3XL) at the SGA Bookstore in the Smith Student Center. T-shirts not sold prior to game day will be available at the stadium prior to the contest.

All fans attending the game are encouraged to wear white as a show of support for the Green and White.

Joe Flynn, manager of the SGA Bookstore, said an initial order of 2,000 commemorative tees was made with another 800 set to arrive next week. "Better get yours quick. They're flying off the shelves," he said.

The SGA Bookstore is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday. The store is closed Sunday.
