SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University's council of trustees will meet Oct. 5-6. Committee meetings will take place in Room 320 of the Smith Student Center. The quarterly business meeting will take place at 1 p.m., Oct. 6 in Room 321 of the Smith Student Center. All meetings are open to the public.

Agenda items for the Oct. 5 committee meetings include reports from the University Advancement Committee, the Finance Committee and the Academic and Student Affairs Committee.

The University Advancement Committee will meet at 1 p.m., Oct. 5 to discuss University branding; the University's financial investment in the Slippery Rock University Foundation, Inc. and associated return on investment; potential advancement models; the future of the SRU Foundation, Inc. and its subsidiaries; and a report from the Foundation.

The Finance Committee will meet at 2:30 p.m., Oct. 5 to receive a presentation on the University's current budget and review an update on the master plan; a review of the 2017-18 proposed budget; a review of current contracts, fixed assets and service and supply purchase orders; a quarterly financial report; a review of the facilities and planning project list; and review of personnel appointments, which includes instructional, tactical leadership, operational leadership, grant-funded, non-faculty and support staff.

The Academic and Student Affairs Committee will meet at 3:30 p.m., Oct. 5 to hear from Rebecca Morrice, associate professor of theatre, who will present the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting program for approval by the Council and subsequent advancement to the State System's board of governors. The committee will also hear an update on enrollment from Amanda Yale, associate provost for enrollment management.

The Governance Committee will meet at 10 a.m., Oct. 6 to review Pennsylvania Association of Councils of Trustees dues and hear from SRU's Presidential Search Committee as to the recommendation of candidates for the next president of the University.

The Council's quarterly business meeting at 1 p.m. will call for action to be taken on the approval of the meeting agenda and minutes from the June 9 quarterly and Sept. 11 special COT meetings; a review of committee reports and of those items forwarded by the committees for action by the full council.
