SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University has been named one of the top ten universities in the state of Pennsylvania for social work majors by Zippia.com.

To determine its rankings, Zippia.com looked at the data from the National Center for Education Statistics and College Scorecard data from ED.gov to understand which social work departments offered the best career opportunities based on these criteria:
-Career Results (mean earnings after six years; mean earnings after 10 years; and ratio of people working to not working after 10 years).
-Social Work Emphasis (percentage of graduating class that are social work majors).
-School Performance (admissions rate; graduation rate; average cost of attendance; and median amount of debt).

After compiling the data, Zippia.com ranked each school with institutions earning a "1" for being the best in a given category to create a "Social Work Quality Index.'"
