Farm$en$e class teaches farm management

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University's Sustainable Enterprise Accelerator is partnering with Penn State Extension to offer Farm$en$e, a four-session financial management course for agricultural producers and SRU students interested in better understanding financial statements.

The classes, which will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.,Nov. 3, 10, 17 and 24 at SRU's Storm Harbor Equestrian Center, are free to SRU students. The class will give SRU students and farmers an opportunity to study the financial aspects of farming, including cash flow and book keeping.

Participants will create a custom business plan and learn how to use financial records to make informed decisions about operations, with hands-on learning and instructor assistance.

SRU's Sustainable Enterprise Accelerator is a resource for students and entrepreneurs to help grow a business with a sustainable model.
