SRU's master degree in data analytics earns national ranking

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University's master's degree in data analytics has been ranked among the nation's Top 50 "best online big data" degree programs by bestcomputerscienceschools.net.

Bestcomputerscienceschools.net developed its ranking according to its standard methodology that aggregates data from PayScale, U.S. News & World Report, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, as well as information provided by the schools in order to measure institutional strength, return on tuition investment and student happiness

SRU's program prepares students to use data analysis methods, use predictive modeling, maintain data security and communicate effectively with constituents. Graduates of the program receive both a master of science from SRU and professional certificate from the SAS Institute for Advanced Analytics.

SAS is one of the most widely used software platforms in the world for performing data analytics and statistical analysis. SRU is one of only 56 institutions in the U.S. offering the SAS certificate. Additionally, the program prepares graduates to take the Certified Analytics Professional exam administered by the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences.

The 33-credit hour program can be completed in 10 months full-time or two years part-time and is offered fully online.
