SRU music major to help open Hunter Hayes concert

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Andrew Loose, a Slippery Rock University senior majoring in music education, will join Ryan Lafferty for a performance of the song "Cheerleader" prior to the Hunter Hayes concert Oct. 30 in SRU's Robert N. Aebersold Student Recreation Center.

Loose, a trumpet player from Mechanicsburg, has been a featured soloist with the SRU Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo 1 and the Marching Pride. He is president of the Jazz Ensemble Club and vice president of Mu Phi Epsilon, the honors music fraternity.

Lafferty, a West Virginia native, released his debut EP, "The Half of It" in May.

Tickets, $20 for students and $40 for general, are available online at www.srupb.com. Students 18 or older with a valid ID may purchase up to four tickets. The general public can purchase up to 10 tickets. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with Lafferty taking the stage at 6:30 p.m.
