SRU offers Nov. 6 ‘Disability Sports Night’

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University students will have the opportunity to participate in adapted tennis, volleyball, wheelchair basketball and other sports during SRU's "Disability Sports Night" from 6-8 p.m., Nov. 6, in the Robert N. Aebersold Student Recreation Center. The program is part of the President's Commission for Disabilities Issues Month.
Ben Bevington, who plays for the Pittsburgh Mighty Penguins sled hockey team, will be the guest speaker.
The awareness night will also include beep baseball and relays. Pizza and refreshments will be available.
The free program is part of SRU's 2015-16 Diversity and Inclusion Series.
SRU will offer a Disability Symposium Nov. 24 to explore ways for improving quality of life for those with disabilities.
