SRU to present Dec. 4 ‘Holiday Nights and Days’

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Kevin Spirtas, a singer and actor whose roles include Dr. Craig Wesley on NBC's "Days of Our Lives," will present "Holiday Nights and Days Starring Kevin Spirtas" at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 4, in Slippery Rock University's University Union.

The café-style concert will seat attendees eight to a table to provide an intimate evening as Spirtas performs and talks about his acting career.

David Weinstein, a pianist and musical director, will accompany Spirtas on piano.

Songs on the program include "Night and Day," "Old Devil Moon," "Somewhere," Have Yourself a Merry Little Xmas," "White Christmas" and "Somewhere."

Spirtas made a ripple on Broadway in 2003 when he was cast to be Hugh Jackman's standby in the musical "The Boy from Oz."

Before that, he played Dr. Wesley on "Days of Our Lives" for more than seven years. In 1999, Soap Opera Digest nominated Spirtas for Best Villain, and TV Guide touted him for a Best Supporting Actor Emmy.

Spirtas has guest starred on the television shows "LA Heat," 'V.I.P.," "Fired Up" and "Quantum Leap."

Weinstein has produced, adapted and supervised recordings for Broadway Junior, Disney Theatrical Productions and "The Adventures of Flat Stanley." He has toured with "Irving Berlin's White Christmas" and "100 Years of Broadway."

Weinstein, the former director of French Woods Performing Arts Camp, conducted "Les Miserables" on Broadway.
