‘Swap Don’t Shop’ clothes drive supports St. Jude
Dec. 1, 2015
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University students, faculty and staff who want to support St Jude Children's Research Hospital and contribute to sustainability can do so by participating in SRU's "Swap Don't Shop" clothes exchange from noon to 2 p.m., Dec. 3, in 321 Smith Student Center.
Participants can swap out articles of clothing or pay $1 for each article of clothing. Proceeds will go to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The 20-member College Dress Relief group at SRU organized the benefit and expects five boxes of donated clothes to be available for purchases. The event will operate like a yard sale and promote sustainability by recycling old clothes. Clothes not purchased will be donated to Goodwill.
St. Jude treats children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
