SRU app will allow students to “GET” food more quickly

The expanded GET Food app will offer Slippery Rock University students the option of online food ordering beginning Jan. 22 when the renovated T&B Naturally, located inside Bailey Library, reopens.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - You've got classes stacked four or five deep. In between, you've got to find time to stop by the Student Health Center for your flu shot; get your laundry done; and discuss the finer points of proper bathroom etiquette with your roommates.

Oh, and then there's the matter of grabbing a bite to eat as you whip through Bailey Library to borrow some notes from a classmate. Just another typical day at Slippery Rock University, right?

Fortunately, the food part of the equation will soon be the least of your worries.

When students return for the start of the spring semester in January, the GET program used on campus, which previously was used only for adding flex funds and viewing spending history, will include an online food ordering option. The pilot for this pro-gram will begin Jan. 22 at T&B Naturally inside Bailey Library.

T&B serves 100 percent certified organic coffee, pastries, smoothies, specialty coffee drinks, bagel sandwiches, gourmet spreads and Naked Juice.

The new GET Food feature will allow students to pre-order food items and drinks offered on the menu ahead of time, with options for immediate pickup as well as placing an advanced order for the following day.

Payment options will include flex, credit cards and debit cards. Customers will receive order confirmations through email with items available for pickup at the T&B pickup window.

The GET Food program can be accessed either online at get.cbord.com/sru or by downloading the app from Google Play or the Apple app store by searching "cbord get."

Debra Pincek, executive director for academic and student affairs resources, and Beverly Lumley, information technology generalist for student services, who spearheaded the T&B pilot, plan to roll out the online ordering app to more campus dining locations in the near future.

T&B will be open Mondays-Thursdays, 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays, 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Sundays, 2-9 p.m.
