Patterson poem selected for publication

Laurel Patterson, clerk typist II for Slippery Rock University's Center for Service, Involvement and Leadership, has had her poem, "Lush Earth," selected for publication in the spring issue of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi's publication, "The Forum."

Patterson is the president and public relations officer of the SRU chapter of the honor society. The society's mission is to "recognize and promote academic excellence in all fields of higher education and to engage the community of scholars in service to others."

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline honor society, with chapters at more than 300 colleges and universities across the U.S. Phi Kappa Phi was founded in 1897 at the University of Maine. More than 1.25 million members having been initiated since its inception.
