SRU professors' artwork now on display

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Abstract works from Slippery Rock University art professors Barbara Westman and Tricia Bishop are featured as part of the "Transactions: Art and Poetry Exchange" exhibition currently on display at the Spinning Plate Gallery in Pittsburgh.

"Abstract art, like music and poetry, contributes to our sense of what is essential and soulful," said Gary Jurysta, curator of Spinning Plate Gallery. "The artists in 'Transactions' were selected because they create abstract works I find intriguing, personally expressive and unique."

Westman's featured works are in fibers, while Bishop's exhibition pieces are ceramic sculptures.

The exhibition is on display through Feb. 27. More information can be found at: https://transactionsartandpoetry.wordpress.com/.
