SRU ROTC cadets earn leadership training internships
Three Slippery Rock University Army ROTC cadets have been selected to participate in paid summer internships under the U.S. Army's Cadet Troop Leader Training Program.
The program provides Army ROTC cadets the opportunity to experience leadership in active-duty Army units over a three- to four-week period. The cadets will serve in lieutenant-level leadership positions, allowing them to gain perspective on what they will face as future officers leading 30-plus soldiers and being responsible for millions of dollars of equipment.
Taking part in the program are:
- Evan Razzano, a junior political science major from Beaver, who is assigned to 1st Battalion, 7th Air Defense Artillery Battalion at Fort Bragg, North Carolina;
- Dan Spiker, a junior mathematics and finance major from Fombell, who is assigned to 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and
- Jonathan Baker, a junior history major from Clymer, who is assigned to 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina
