Sophomore career-ready retreat receives $500 grant

John Rindy, director of Slippery Rock University's Career Education and Development Office and Justin Kleemook, associate director for residence life, received a $500 grant from the Pennsylvania Association of Colleges and Employers to conduct a career-ready retreat for University sophomores.

The idea behind the program is to promote retention and persistence of second-year students, mostly those in the sophomore living learning community, through a retreat that takes them out of the classroom in order to focus on crafting their personal brand, understanding their skills and examining room for personal development over the next several years.
