SRU nursing graduate to lead CCBC nursing school
Shelly Moore, a 1998 Slippery Rock University bachelor of science in nursing graduate has been appointed dean of the School of Nursing and Allied Health at Community College of Beaver County effective June 23.

For the past 11 years, Moore has been a member of the faculty and administration at Clarion University, where she served as interim director of Clarion's School of Nursing and Allied Health, chair and administrator of the nursing department and a tenured member of the nursing faculty.
Along with her team, she gained approval for two new nursing programs at Clarion, a four-year bachelor of science in nursing and a doctor of nursing practice. She taught a number of courses in Clarion's associate of science in nursing degree program. As director of the School of Nursing and Allied Health, she provided leadership for robust nursing, medical imaging/radiologic technology, allied health and respiratory care programs.
In addition to her SRU degree, Moore earned a doctor of nursing degree at Indiana University of Pennsylvania; a master of science in nursing and a post-master's certificate in nursing education from the Clarion, Edinboro and Slippery Rock Universities master of science in nursing program.
She is credentialed as a certified nurse educator by the National League of Nursing and has a special interest in assisting at-risk students.
