SRU professors served as chairs at educators conference

John Hicks, assistant professor of secondary education/foundations of education, and Mary Vetere, associate professor of elementary education/early childhood, served as organizers at the Association of Teacher Educator's National Summer Meeting Aug. 5-8 in Pittsburgh. Hicks served as event co-chair, while Vetere chaired the local arrangement committee, inviting guest speakers and organizing the charity program that supported the Head Start Program at Mt. Washington Childcare.
The ATE is the only national, individual membership organization devoted solely to the improvement of teacher education for both school and campus-based teacher educators. ATE members represent more than 650 colleges and universities, 500 major school systems and the majority of the state departments of education.
