Tours presents at Italian early childhood education conference

Sara Tours, assistant professor of elementary education and early childhood at Slippery Rock University, conducted four presentations at the European Early Childhood Education Research Association Conference at the University of Bologna in Bologna, Italy.
Tours and her co-presenters discussed their papers and posters that included: "The Importance of Phonemic Awareness for ESOL Hispanic Pre-Kindergartners in the USA;" "Emerging Evidence for Mindfulness Practices with Young Children;" "Early Childhood Teachers' Information Technology Usage and Its Impact on Education;" and "The Effects of Parents on Home Literacy Environments: Regards to Emergent Literacy."
Tours recently earned a doctoral degree in curriculum and instruction with a specialization in early childhood education from Florida State University.
