Laura Remaly inducted into SRU Athletic Hall of Fame
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Laura Remaly, who earned her bachelor of science in physical education from Slippery Rock University in 1982, was recently inducted into the SRU Athletic Hall of Fame. Remaly, who currently owns and operates the All American Bicycle Center in Damascus, Maryland, was a four-sport athlete at Slippery Rock, where she excelled in judo and field hockey and was also a member of the indoor and outdoor track and field teams. The highlight of her career came in 1982 when she claimed a national championship in judo and was named an All-American. In addition to her excellence in judo, Remaly was also a three-year starter on the field hockey team and was named to the 1981 Midwest All-Star team. She also excelled as a multi-event specialist for the track and field team, where she won the PSAC title in the pentathlon in 1980. In addition to running her business, Remaly works as a wellness coach and instructor at WellAdvantage. She has completed more than 50 triathlons.
