SRU Ranger Challenge Team completes national competition

Seven members of the Slippery Rock University Army ROTC Ranger Challenge Team recently received Ranger Challenge Tabs and Certificates for successfully competing in the 2016 Ranger Challenge Competition at Fort Dix, New Jersey.

The team drilled against 44 other squads in several events, including: a five-mile foot march, squad paintball, a combat assault obstacle course, machine gun crew drills, tug of war and a wounded soldier march.

Representing SRU were: Nicholas Appleby, a homeland security major from Eldred; Dylan Colcombe, a biology major from Norwin; Gunner Coleman, an exercise science major from Slippery Rock; Fletcher Hubsch, a criminology and criminal justice major from Sewickley; Tyson Miller, a safety management major from Bellwood; Daniel Seasock, a health science/public health major from Wilkes-Barre; and Austin Shakespeare, a homeland security major from Thornton.
