SRU students to compete at regional ethics bowl

Two teams of Slippery Rock University students will compete at the 19th Annual Central Regions Ethics Bowl, Nov. 11 at Marian University in Indianapolis.

Coached by Andrew Winters, instructor of philosophy, the teams will discuss and debate 15 cases of pressing and contemporary moral issues.

SRU's "Team A" includes:

-Margaret Calvert, a junior political science major from Butler.
-Connor Griffith, a junior dual philosophy and history major from Cranberry Township.
-Caitlyn Kilmer, a junior dual political science and philosophy major from Brockport.

SRU's "Team B" includes:

-Tristan Hyde, a senior mathematics-philosophy major from Guys Mills.
-Gennifer Farrell, a senior mathematics major from Carlisle.
-Anthony Tomasi, a senior philosophy major from New Brighton.

Ethics Bowl is an event inspired by the nationally televised "College Bowl." It began in 1995 as an intercollegiate competition developed by faculty at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.
