Graduate student wins Grady writing award


SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Jeannene Jones, a Slippery Rock University student affairs in higher education graduate student from San Diego, California, recently won the Grady and Mary Roberts Student Writing Award at the Pennsylvania College Personnel Association Conference.

Jones won for her written research report on the importance of college identity centers such as those advocating for women, LGBTQ and multiculturalism. 

Jones received her undergraduate degree in professional studies from SRU in 2013. 

Grady Roberts Jr., associate dean emeritus of the University of Pittsburgh and past PCPA president, established the award in honor of his parents and their investment in higher education.
