GGE Club students clean up Presque Isle beach

Nineteen student members of the Geography, Geology and Environment Club at Slippery Rock University recently participated in the Adopt-A-Beach cleanup program at Presque Isle in Erie.
Students, who partnered with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and The Alliance for the Great Lakes, collected 45 pounds of litter during a three-hour volunteer outing.
Participating students included environmental geoscience majors Jaclyn Burke from Pittsburgh; Rachel Szmyd from Glassport; Henry Kramer from Aliquippa; Jessica Nenno from Waldorf, Maryland; Zachary Peters from Clintonville; Luke Sherer from Pittsburgh; Taylor Smith from Barnegat, New Jersey; Cheney Preston from Mercer; Nicole Klimowicz from East Aurora, New York; Jessica Schottanes from Pittsburgh; Zachery Kuhn from Venetia; Julee Greiner from Tarentum; Alexis Chambers from Apollo; Devon Miller from Fombell; and Katherine Hrytzik from Erie; environmental studies majors Alyssa Chorney from Pittsburgh; and Caleb Cox from Altoona; Logan Jacobs, a geology, geography and earth sciences major from Springdale; and Katie Schlea, a geology and computation physics major from Stow, Ohio
