Exercise Science majors win fitness challenge

A quartet of Slippery Rock University exercise science majors won the Fitness Challenge Competition at the American College of Sports Medicine Mid-Atlantic Regional Chapter Conference.
As part of the challenge, the teams performed various exercises that demonstrated their abilities in four primary categories: cardio, respiratory, muscular endurance and strength. The teams were also analyzed on their physical skills including agility, balance, fitness, power and speed.
The goal of the conference is to foster the professional and educational development of students and to promote the dissemination of health and exercise related information from ACSM through scientific resources within the Mid-Atlantic Regional Chapter.
The SRU contingent included:
-Amanda Brush, a senior exercise science major from Harleysville.
-Maria Darling, a senior dual exercise science and psychology major from Freedom, New York.
-Grascen Hilsinger, a sophomore exercise major from Mechanicsburg.
-Falco Meden, a sophomore exercise science major from Clairton.
