SRU FALL DANCE CONCERTS TO SHOWCASE BALLET, TAP, MODERN CHOREOGRAPHY

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University dance department concludes the semester by showcasing student and faculty works in its annual fall concerts set for 3 and 8 p.m. Dec. 5 in Swope Recital Hall.

Tickets are $2 for general admission at the door.

The concerts feature works by Nola Nolen-Holland, assistant professor of dance, who will offer a contemporary ballet for 10 students set to one movement from Donyani’s “Suite in F.”  Students in Visiting Instructor Jaya Mani’s world dance course will present an eastern India dance in the Bharatanatyam tradition.

Student choreographers will present a range of works, including tap and modern dance. The choreographers have participated in a rigorous creative process during fall semester under the direction of Nora Ambrosio, professor of dance and department chair.
