Liberal studies courses are designed to give students the general knowledge base that is expected of well-educated individuals in today's society.

Everyone is required to take Liberal Studies courses. Liberal studies courses constitute about one-third of a student's overall coursework, the other two-thirds being major courses and free electives.

Students will be required to take goal courses in the following areas of study:

*Basic Competencies (Ex. College Writing, Public Speaking)
*The Arts
*Global Community
*Human Institutions/Interpersonal Relationships
*Science, Technology and Math
*Challenges of the Modern Age

Along with the required goal courses, students also take enrichment courses that expand upon the general information presented in the goal courses.
