» SRU Student Government Association Child Day Care to Offer 'Spotlight on Arts' Summer Camp
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. –  A weeklong “Spotlight on the Arts” summer day-camp will be offered by the Slippery Rock University Student Government Association Child Care Center Aug. 1-5 offering programs in art, music, theater and dance to those ages 3 to 6 and those ages 6-12.

» Camp for Children with Visual Impairments Set for June 22-15 at SRU
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Horseback riding will be the new event when up to 40 blind or visually impaired children from western Pennsylvania and Ohio come to Slippery Rock University June 22-25 for Camp SportsVision. They will participate in 10 sports.

» New 'ING Performing Arts Series' to Bring Hamlisch, Political Satire, Music, Dance, Others to SRU
 SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. –  Popular composer Marvin Hamlisch, the vocal group Rockapella, choreography by the Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company and political satire by the trendy Capitol Steps are the four subscription shows that will premier the ING Performing Arts Series at Slippery Rock University.

» SRU Budget Challenge: Serving More Students with Less Revenue than Four Years Ago, Trustees Told
CRANBERRY, Pa. --  Slippery Rock University trustees heard university president Robert M. Smith explain the challenge of overcoming a more than $4 million shortfall for 2005-06 from expected lower state appropriations and the governor’s desire for the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Board of Governors to not raise tuition.

» Musicians' Concert Band to Open Four-Part Series at SRU June 17
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. –  The 100-member Musicians’ Concert Band, under the direction of Blasé Scarnati, professor emeritus of music at Slippery Rock University, opens its four-part summer concert series with “Unforgettable…Moments to Remember” featuring the Penn-Ohio Singers directed by Geoff Mucha at 8 p.m. June 17.

» SRU Council of Trustees to Meet Friday at Regional Learning Alliance, Wexford
 A quick reminder that the Slippery Rock University Council of Trustees will hold its regular, quarterly meeting at 1:30 p.m. Friday (June 10). The session will be held at the Regional Learning Alliance facility in Wexford (rather than the traditional meeting place of Old Main on the SRU campus) to allow trustees to tour the new facility.

» Faculty, Staff Invited to Join SRU Alumni Reunion Festivities
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Faculty and staff across campus are invited to join more than 100 Slippery Rock University alumni in the annual Alumni Reunion Weekend festivities planned for June 17-18 by the university’s Office of Alumni Relations and spotlighting the class of 1955 celebrating its 50th reunion.

» Popularity of U.S. Army Jazz Band Results in Ticket 'Sell Out ' at SRU
 SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – All complementary tickets to the U.S. Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors’ July 3 concert at Slippery Rock University have been distributed. Tickets are no longer available.
