SRU LEADING 16TH ANNUAL COMMUNITY DRIVE AS
‘PROJECT CHRISTMAS ELF’
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.
– Names of needy children in the Butler/Lawrence county
area for “adoption” as part of Slippery Rock
University’s Institute for Community, Service-Learning and
Nonprofit Leadership’s “Project Christmas Elf”
are available by calling 724-738-2273.
Names of needy
children are provided by local Salvation Army operations in the
respective counties. In addition to university departments, offices
and campus organizations, individuals and community groups are also
invited to participate by adopting a needy child for Christmas
providing items from the child’s wish list.
Gifts will be
gathered for delivery to the Salvation Army from 10:30 a.m. to
12:30 p.m. Dec. 9 in the Russell Wright Alumni House.
The project was
begun 16 years ago to help SRU mark the 100th anniversary of the
university’s founding.
