A gift from you will help the
College of Education support the following:
Literacy
Center
This center could encompass all
aspects of literacy and would focus on research documenting
effective practices for literacy instruction and for developing
effective literacy education. In addition, the Literacy
Center would have the latest technology, copy center, and resources
for classroom use which University students, in-service teachers
and university faculty could utilize for preparing
lessons.
Math/Science Teaching
Lab
Two existing classrooms with a
one-way mirror will be used as an "observation deck" to observe
University students teaching children math and science in an
adjoining classroom. Both classrooms would have cutting edge
technology and video equipment for taping and then reflecting on
the lesson/observation. Funding is needed to renovate rooms
and supply needed furniture and technology.
