Hollywood Director George Romero, Folk Legend Tom Chapin to Healdine SRU Kaleidoscope Festival
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – A children’s day performance by folk legend Tom Chapin, a film festival presentation of “Creep Show” with an appearance by director George Romero and more than 20 other concerts, lectures and special events round out Slippery Rock University’s fifth annual Kaleidoscope Arts Festival April 19-30.

Mozart Expert to Lecture at SRU Thursday
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Dr. Rainer Buland, professor of music at the world famous Mozarteum University of Salzburg, will offer a free lecture about Mozart's life and music, the time period in which he lived, discuss what Mozart’s music means today and how it has influenced not only Austrian music but the entire world of music, when he visits Slippery Rock University at 1 p.m. Thursday [March 30].

SRU Academics, Scholarship to be Honored Sunday at Annual Convocation Ceremony
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – And the 2006 recipient of the President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching at Slippery Rock University goes to Dr. Eva Tsuquiashi-Daddesio, an 18-year member of the modern languages and cultures department which will be presented when the university honors more than 2,200 students for their academic accomplishments and achievements at the annual Academic Honors Convocation April 2.

New Vice President for Student Life Named at SRU
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Dr. Constance Foley has been named vice president for student life at Slippery Rock University, effective July 1, 2006. “I am very pleased Dr. Foley has accepted this position,” said SRU President Robert M. Smith. “As assistant vice president for student affairs at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla., for the past eight years, she has helped direct strategic planning for the development of the campus including new housing construction and a major renovation of the student union.”
