From February 4 through February 8, 2006, representatives from Slippery Rock University and its Professional Development School districts participated in The New Teacher Center Symposium for mentorin and induction in San José, Ca.  The New Teacher Center, of the University of California, Santa Cruz, is considered the nation's forefront expert and exemplar for effective practice in areas of mentoring and induction.

Representing Pine-Richland School District:    Dr. Yvonne Hawkins, Wexford PDS Principal

Representing Sharon City School District:        Mrs. Javens, Case Avenue PDS Kindergarten Teacher

    This group will meet to prepare a plan which they will propose to the Dean, Department Chairs, and PDS district Superintendents this coming summer.
