SATURDAY DANCE SESSIONS OFFERED FOR CHILDREN
3-12 AT SRU
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The dance department
at Slippery Rock University will offer an 11-week series of
Saturday dance classes beginning Saturday. Classes are for
children ages 3 to 12 and include creative dance, tap and jazz and
hip-hop.
Classes
will meet every Saturday in the McKay Education Building Dance
Studio through Nov. 19. The focus is on teaching, exploring and
learning.
The classes offered are creative dance for
pre-kindergarten, ages 3 to 4, from 9:30 to 10 a.m. ($50); creative
dance for K through first-graders, ages five and six, from 10:15 to
11 a.m. ($60); tap and jazz for seven to 12 year olds from 11:15
a.m. to 12:15 p.m. $70); and hip hop, tap and jazz for nine to 12
year olds from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. ($70). Class size is
limited.
The dance program is a
non-competitive program. There will be informal studio
showings (therefore, no costumes to buy) for parents and friends at
the end of each 11-week session.
