The Geography program of study provides a good background for entry to the following occupations and may require further education. These are only some of the many career choices available:

    Many graduates of the Geography program find employment within:
  • Federal Government (Department of Defense, Interior, Commerce, Agriculture, and State, U.S. Geological Survey, Forest Service, Soil Conservation Service, Defense Mapping, Army Corps of Engineers, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, National Aeronautics and Space Administration and Central Intelligence Agency)
  • State and Regional Government (Departments of Transportation, Agriculture, Environmental, and Health Planning Agencies)
  • Corporations or companies in insurance, environmental work, transportation, communications and international trade
  • Forestry, mining, engineering, architectural and surveying firms
