Approval of minutes from September
26, 2006
L. Smith called a
motion to approve the minutes from September 26, 2006.

B.
LSPC Assessment Plan
L. Smith informed
the committee about the recent UCC and APSCUF Executive Committee
meetings where he discussed the LSPC Assessment Plan. No
major changes were suggested for the document at either
meeting.
The committee
also discussed final changes to the LSPC Assessment Plan.
Changes made include the addition of “theatre” to the
first student outcome in the Arts block, and the addition of one
new student outcome and changes to the remaining student outcomes
in the Global Community block to incorporate changes suggested by
modern languages faculty.
C.
Liberal Studies Five-year Program
Review
L. Smith informed
the Committee of the progress of the Review Committee. At
this point the Committee has divided its work and is still looking
for an external reviewer.
D.
Liberal Studies Rules and
Procedures
The Committee
reviewed the latest draft of the Rules and Procedures which
included the addition of language to address the document’s
availability through the I-drive, and the addition of new committee
members representing the Basic Requirements and Challenges of the
Modern Ages blocks. It was also noted that every member of the LSPC
will be able to vote.
E.
Miscellaneous
Committee members
also discussed the upcoming vote on the Assessment plan and decided
they would use an electronic vote that can be either emailed or
printed out and sent in for more privacy.
